Restrooms For Ventura County Job Sites
A construction site restroom is a standard portable toilet on a monthly rental with weekly service, placed where the trades are working and moved as the job moves. We supply them to general contractors, framers, concrete crews, solar installers, utility contractors and owner-builders right across Ventura County, from a single unit on a driveway remodel in Thousand Oaks to a bank of units and sinks on a tract build in Oxnard. The rental covers delivery, placement, weekly pumping and cleaning, restocking and collection at the end, quoted as one flat monthly number. Two things separate a job site rental from an event rental: it runs for months rather than hours, and it is a compliance item as well as a convenience. Cal/OSHA expects toilets on site in a set ratio to headcount, and any crew handling food, chemicals or wastewater also needs a portable hand washing station, which we deliver on the same drop.

Why Contractors Stay With Us
Job site rentals are won and lost on the service visit rather than the delivery. A unit that gets skipped in a heat wave becomes the thing the crew talks about, and on a site with twenty people on it a once-a-week schedule was never going to be enough. We size the servicing to the actual headcount when we quote, we run fixed weekly routes so the driver knows the site, and we will add a mid-week visit for a month and take it back off when the crew shrinks. Superintendents also get the same phone number every time rather than a call center, which matters at seven in the morning when a unit needs to move before the concrete truck arrives. If a job grows into needing ADA access or a trailer for the site office, that comes from the same Ventura portable restroom rental yard rather than a second vendor and a second invoice.
- Flat monthly rate covering delivery, weekly service and collection, with no fuel or environmental surcharge.
- Servicing frequency sized to the crew, not to a default schedule, and adjustable during the rental.
- Same driver, same day each week, so somebody who knows the site notices when it needs to move.
- Units repositioned during the job as the work moves, usually inside a day of the call.
- Sinks, ADA units and additional stock available on the same account and the same delivery.
- Charcoal units on residential streets, so a six-month remodel does not become a neighborhood complaint.
Reasons Job Sites Rent Restrooms
Some of these are practical and some of them are the law:
Cal/OSHA requires toilets on the site
California construction sites have to provide toilet facilities in proportion to the number of workers: one toilet for up to 20 employees, and one toilet seat plus one urinal for every 40 employees above that. The requirement sits with the employer, not with the rental company, so getting the count right is worth five minutes on the phone.
The crew is walking off site to find a bathroom
Twenty minutes each way to a gas station, several times a day, across a crew of twelve, is a real number. Most contractors work out quickly that a unit on site costs less per month than the hours it saves in a week.
There is no water or sewer connection yet
On a ground-up build the site has neither for months. A self-contained unit needs neither, which is why it is normally the first thing delivered to a bare lot and among the last things collected.
The existing bathrooms are out of service
A whole-house remodel, a commercial tenant improvement or a re-pipe takes the fixtures out of use for weeks. A unit in the driveway or the loading area keeps the trades out of the finished part of the building.
The job has grown past what one unit can handle
A framing crew stacking on top of a concrete crew doubles the load overnight. The tell is a unit that needs servicing before its scheduled day. Adding a second unit is cheaper than the alternative, and we can usually have it there the next morning.
Inspectors and clients are visiting the site
On commercial work, the state of the site restroom is part of the impression the job makes. It is one of the few things on a construction site that a visitor will judge you on within thirty seconds, and it costs almost nothing to get right.

How Job Site Rentals Run
Set it up once at the start of the job and it should not need managing again.
1. Headcount, duration and placement
We work out the unit count from your peak crew size rather than today’s, agree the servicing frequency, and pick a spot the service truck can reach every week without crossing the work area. On tract sites that usually means one unit per phase rather than one central bank.
2. Delivery and repositioning
Units arrive clean and stocked and are placed level and out of traffic. As the build progresses and the work moves, we move them. Repositioning is part of the rental, not an extra, and usually happens within a day of the call.
3. Weekly service and end of job
The truck comes the same day every week to pump, wash, sanitize and restock. When the job wraps you call and the units are gone within a couple of days, with the pads left clean and no collection fee at the end.
Long-Term Rentals, Servicing And Site Sanitation
What a construction rental usually includes once the job is real:
Monthly porta potty rental
The standard arrangement on any job past a couple of weeks. A flat monthly rate with weekly service included, billed month to month, cancelled when the job ends. It works out to a fraction of the daily event rate and is the cheapest way to keep a unit on a long build.
Long term portable toilet rental
Six-month and twelve-month builds get a better rate again, and on those we schedule a unit swap partway through rather than leaving the same box on a site for a year. On coastal jobs near Port Hueneme and Ventura Harbor we swap more often, because salt air is hard on hardware.
Portable toilet servicing and pumping
A vacuum truck pumps the tank, the interior is washed and sanitized, deodorizer is charged and paper and sanitizer are restocked. Weekly is standard; heavy crews get twice or three times a week. We also pump customer-owned units and holding tanks on the same routes.
Hand washing and site sanitation
Any crew handling food, working with wastewater or applying chemicals needs handwashing on site, and a lot of specs now ask for it regardless. A two-station portable sink next to the unit covers it, with fresh water and a foot pump and no plumbing needed.
ADA units on public-facing jobs
Public works, school and government contracts frequently require an accessible unit on site. An ADA portable restroom is much larger than a standard unit, needs a firm level pad and a clear approach, and is worth confirming at bid time rather than at inspection.
High-traffic and multi-phase sites
Tract builds, warehouse jobs and anything with subcontractors stacking need units spread through the site rather than clustered at the gate. We map that out with the superintendent and adjust it as phases open, which keeps walking time down and the units evenly used.
Site security and vandalism
Unsecured sites lose units to tipping and graffiti, particularly over long weekends. Placing a unit inside the fence line, against a structure or where a camera can see it prevents most of it, and a damage waiver covers the rest for very little money.
What Construction Restrooms Cost
A standard job site unit runs about $150 to $275 a month in Ventura County with weekly service included. What moves it:
- Servicing frequency. Weekly is in the base rate. A twenty-person crew realistically needs twice weekly, and that is the single biggest variable on a job site quote.
- Unit count. Per-unit pricing improves as the count rises, because the delivery run costs the same whether the truck drops one or six.
- Rental length. Three-month, six-month and annual commitments each earn a better rate than month to month, though we do not require a term.
- Unit type. Standard, deluxe flushing, ADA and sinks are four price points, and most sites end up with a mix rather than one of everything.
- Access. A site a service truck can reach from the street is cheaper to run than one needing a small truck, a gate code and an escort, which is common on base-adjacent work in Port Hueneme.
- Site conditions. Somewhere firm, level and out of the traffic lane costs less to service over six months than a spot that has to be re-leveled every visit.
Everything is quoted flat and monthly with delivery, servicing and collection inside the number. If the job needs a restroom for the site office or a client walkthrough rather than the crew, the pricing on the restroom trailer page is the better comparison.
Frequently Asked Questions
How many porta potties does a construction site need?
Under Cal/OSHA the minimum is one toilet for up to 20 workers, then one toilet seat and one urinal per 40 workers above that. Plenty of general contractors run closer to one unit per ten workers because the minimum makes for queues and a unit that needs servicing twice a week. We will work the number out with you against your peak crew, not today’s.
Do you provide restrooms for construction sites?
Yes, and it is the largest part of what we do. Job site rentals go on a flat monthly rate with weekly servicing included, units get repositioned free as the work moves, and we add sinks or ADA units whenever the spec calls for them. Most sites in the county can be covered within a day or two of the call.
What is the minimum rental period for a job site?
One month. That is the standard across the industry and it is genuinely the cheapest way to rent for a build, because the monthly rate works out far below the daily rate. If a job finishes early you are not tied in beyond the month you are in.
How often do job site units get serviced?
Once a week as standard. Crews above about ten people usually need twice a week, and in a Simi Valley or Moorpark summer that goes up again. We would rather quote the right frequency at the start than let a site get to the point where somebody has to call about it.
Can you move the unit as the job progresses?
Yes, at no extra charge. On a tract or a multi-phase site that happens several times over a build. Give us a day’s notice and it moves on the next run, or same day if the concrete pour cannot wait.
Do we need a hand washing station as well?
If the crew handles food, works with wastewater or applies chemicals, yes. Many commercial and public works specs now require handwashing regardless of trade. A two-station sink alongside the unit is inexpensive and it is the item most likely to be written up if it is missing.
What happens if a unit is vandalized on site?
Damage beyond normal wear is the renter’s responsibility, which is standard in the industry. On unsecured sites, placing units inside the fence and taking the damage waiver is the cheap insurance. Tipped units get uprighted and serviced on the next visit, or sooner if you call.
