The situations that put a unit on a site are pretty consistent:
There is no working bathroom on site
A ground-up build, a lot being cleared, a ranch with no facilities near the work, or a remodel where the only bathroom in the house is currently in pieces. This is the most common reason we get called, and the honest answer is usually one unit for a small crew and a second once the trades stack up.
The crew is using a neighbor's bathroom, or the client's
On a residential remodel this is the thing that quietly ends a good relationship with a homeowner. A unit in the driveway for a few hundred dollars a month is cheaper than the conversation that follows six weeks of tradespeople walking through a finished part of the house.
An event will have more guests than the venue has fixtures
Parks, ranches, wineries and private property all run out of fixtures fast. The rule of thumb we use is one unit per fifty guests for a four-hour event with no alcohol, and more if it runs longer or people are drinking. Under-ordering is the single most common event mistake.
Cal/OSHA or the county requires it
Ag crews working the fields need toilets, drinking water and handwashing within a quarter-mile walk. Construction sites need toilets at a set ratio to headcount. Public events need at least one accessible unit. In all three cases the requirement is on the employer or the organizer, not on us, so it is worth getting the count right.
The job is longer than a portable tank can go without service
A holding tank on a busy site does not last a month. If the unit is being used by more than a couple of people a day, weekly servicing is the minimum and heavy sites need twice that. Anyone quoting you a monthly rental with monthly service on a real crew is quoting you a problem.
Access rules out anything permanent
Hillside lots, ranch driveways, film locations, canyon properties and port yards all have places where plumbing will never go. A self-contained unit that needs no water and no power goes wherever a truck can reach, which on our smaller trucks is most places.

How Delivery And Service Works
Three steps, one driver, and a service day that does not move.
1. Quote and placement
You tell us the headcount, how long you need it and where the truck can get to. We quote a flat rate on the call. On anything with awkward access, a gate or a slope we will look at it first rather than discovering it on the delivery morning.
2. Delivery and setup
The unit arrives stocked, sanitized and ready to use. We place it level, on firm ground, out of traffic and where the service truck can reach it every week. Exposed sites get staked or ballasted, because wind across the Oxnard Plain and through the Simi pass will move an empty unit.
3. Weekly service and collection
Same day every week: pump the tank, wash the interior, sanitize the touch points, restock paper and sanitizer. When the job ends you call, and the unit is gone within a couple of days with the ground left clean.

Standard portable toilet
The workhorse. A self-contained unit with a holding tank, urinal, toilet paper and hand sanitizer, no water or power required. It covers construction sites, ranches, remodels and most casual events, and it is what the great majority of our rentals are.
Deluxe flushing units
A step up with a flushing bowl, a fresh-water sink inside the unit, a mirror and better ventilation. Worth the difference on jobs where the same people use it every day for months, and on events that are too small to justify a trailer but too nice for a standard unit.
Monthly porta potty rental and long term hire
Anything past a couple of weeks goes on a monthly rate, which is dramatically cheaper per day than event pricing. Long-term rentals include weekly service as standard, and we adjust the frequency to the crew size rather than the calendar. Month to month, cancel when the job ends.
Porta potty cleaning and servicing
A service visit is a pump-out with a vacuum truck, an interior wash-down, sanitizing of the seat, door and touch points, deodorizer charged into the tank, and paper and sanitizer restocked. On heavy sites we run two or three visits a week. We also service units on request outside the schedule when something goes wrong.
Portable toilet pumping and septic pumping
We pump our own units on the weekly route, and we also pump holding tanks, event trailer tanks and small septic systems for customers who already have units on site. Waste goes to a licensed disposal facility with the paperwork to match, which matters if anyone ever asks.
Event and weekend rentals
Delivered Friday, collected Monday, priced as a flat weekend rate. For anything over about 150 guests we will talk you through unit counts, whether you need sinks, and whether the guest list justifies stepping up to a restroom trailer.
Winter and cold-weather use
Ventura County rarely freezes, but the Ojai and Simi valleys get cold enough overnight in January to matter on early-start job sites. Units can be run with antifreeze in the tank, and trailers can be heated. It is a small addition and it stops a genuine nuisance.

A standard unit in Ventura County runs roughly $95 to $175 for a single-day event rental and around $150 to $275 a month on a job site with weekly service included. What moves the number:
- How long you keep it. Monthly rates are far cheaper per day than event rates, and the crossover is at about a week. Tell us the real duration rather than the optimistic one.
- Servicing frequency. Weekly is included. A crew of twenty on one unit needs more than that, and extra visits are the honest way to keep it usable rather than a way to pad an invoice.
- Unit type. A deluxe flushing unit costs more than a standard, an ADA unit costs more again because it is much bigger, and a trailer is a different category entirely.
- How many units. Per-unit pricing drops as the count goes up, because most of the cost of a delivery is the truck being there at all.
- Delivery distance and access. Everything inside our normal county routes is included. A long run into the back country, or a site that needs a smaller truck and a second trip, is priced honestly rather than hidden.
- Event timing. Weekend and holiday deliveries, mid-event servicing and same-day drops carry a premium because they sit outside the route.

The bigger constraint is the truck: we need about 10ft of clearance width, room to reach the unit with a hose on service days, and no low branches or wires over the spot. Level, firm ground matters more than people expect.
Do I need a permit to put a porta potty on my property?
On private property, almost never. On a public sidewalk, in a street parking space or in a park you usually do, and it comes from the city or the county rather than from us. Event venues often have their own placement rules on top of that. We will tell you when we think a permit is in play, but the permit itself is the customer’s to pull.
What happens if the unit gets damaged or tipped over?
Normal wear is on us. Damage beyond that, including vandalism and tip-overs, is the renter’s responsibility, which is standard across the industry. Ask about the damage waiver when you book if the site is unsecured overnight, because it costs very little compared with replacing a unit.
Can you deliver a porta potty tomorrow?
Usually, yes. Standard units are almost always available for next-day delivery somewhere in the county, and we can often do same day if you call in the morning. Trailers and ADA units book out further ahead, particularly on spring and summer weekends.
